In alternation to the Scenographers’ Festival at Basel the section of the humanities at the department of design of the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts are hosting a Biennal Scenographers’ Symposium in the fields of Staging, Designing, Scenography and Scenology. While at Basel the presentation of practices and projects stands in the center of interest, at Dortmund it is the conceptual dimension and the theoretical reflection of that scenographical practices. Yet at the same time, the scenological view may even look far further across the fields and fruits of conventional art, design and architecture.

The theme of the 2013 program is „The Power of Staging and Scenography“. The speeches are given in the main hall of the department of design at the Dortmund FH University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Dortmund, Faculty of Design, Max Ophüls Platz 2, 44137 Main hall 1st floor from  Nov, 27th, 28th Nov 2013.
